Lucky 13: GPC marketing staff brings home 13 awards

by Carol P. Lynn

Thirteen proved a lucky number for members of Georgia Perimeter College’s Marketing and Communications team, as the department won six gold, four silver and three bronze awards for their work.

Presentation of the 13 Medallion Awards was made at the National Council for Marketing and Communications District 2 annual conference held Oct. 26-29 in Nashville. The competition included more than 500 entries representing 58 colleges throughout the southeast, Bermuda, Virgin Islands and the Bahamas.

The awards recognize a broad array of the work of the Marketing and Communications office, including a promotional video, media releases, logo design, advertisements and a successful social media campaign. This past year’s most visible MarCom efforts—the “Better Way Forward” branding campaign, the new GPC website and the GPC Newsroom—all were winners.

“We are proud to represent GPC and to be recognized as an industry leader in so many categories of the work we do for the college,” says Barbara Obrentz, Marketing and Communications director.
