Georgia Perimeter College maintains lowest tuition rate

Georgia Perimeter College remains the best higher education value in the state following Tuesday’s announcement of new tuitions throughout the University System of Georgia.

GPC’s tuition will rise only 2.5 percent for the upcoming academic year, keeping student costs at the lowest level in the USG. An in-state student taking 15 credit hours will see a per-semester increase of just $33.*

“GPC applauds Chancellor Huckaby and the Board of Regents for their sensitivity to college affordability by students and their families and for keeping tuition increases at historic lows over the past four years,” said Rob Watts, interim president of Georgia Perimeter College. “A student at GPC can take a full load of five classes, taught by outstanding professors in small classrooms averaging only 22 students, for just $117 a week, including both tuition and all fees, during a 16-week semester. GPC is a great academic and financial value for students.”

The USG continues to balance the costs of public higher education with about 50 percent coming from state funding and 50 percent generated by tuition.

“We have carefully assessed the tuition rates for our institutions to make sure we are balancing the increasing costs of providing public higher education while keeping tuition and fees as affordable as possible,” said Chancellor Hank Huckaby.
