The Georgia Perimeter College Foundation welcomes a new member to its Board of Trustees.

Scarlet Pressley-Brown, vice president of marketing for the National Center for Civil and Human Rights, previously was director of External Affairs & Community Relations and vice president of Delta Air Lines Foundation. In the position, she became known as the “face of Delta,” establishing the international company as a leader in corporate social responsibility.

Prior to Delta, Pressley-Brown spent six years with the East Lake Community Foundation as director of Community Affairs, successfully restoring and revitalizing the historic East Lake Golf Course community. The restoration included the establishment and opening of Drew Charter School, Atlanta’s first charter school.

Among many accolades, the Atlanta Business League named Pressley-Brown one of “Atlanta’s Top Black Women of Influence” for the past six consecutive years. She received the state’s Outstanding Georgia Citizen award, and The Trumpet Awards Foundation presented her the High Heels in High Places award in 2007.

Pressley-Brown’s academic affiliations include the Advisory Council for the Ron Clark Academy and the Agnes Scott College Board of Visitors. She is a member of the Women’s Solidarity Society, Links–Buckhead Cascade Chapter, National Coalition of 100 Black Women, National Leadership Council of the Polaris Project and Leadership Atlanta Class of 2008.

Said Pressley-Brown, “as a new member to the GPC Foundation Board of Trustees, my goal is to serve as an ambassador for the college and the community, promoting the mutual benefits of building a strong connection and lasting relationship.”
