The $2,000 Adult Students in Scholastic Transition scholarship supports non-traditional students who are pursuing higher education. Executive Women International has awarded scholarships to GPC students since 1996.

Slade, who takes classes at GPC’s Decatur Campus, is a pre-nursing major. The straight “A” student says raising five children—one with a major disability—while attending college is a challenge, but is not impossible.

Griffin and Le both take classes at GPC’s Clarkston Campus. Griffin, a student in the Sign Language Interpreting Program, maintains a 4.0 GPA. “I hope to prove to myself and others that great things can be achieved despite the challenging turns of life,” she says.

Le, a nursing major at GPC, plans to one day open her own clinic as a family nurse practitioner. “I intend to become a leader in both public health and holistic care,” she says. “I am preparing to pay forward to future non-traditional students and neglected communities to the extent that my future resources allow.”

Executive Women International Atlanta is a longtime supporter and partner of Georgia Perimeter College. The organization brings together key individuals from diverse businesses for the purpose of promoting member firms, enhancing personal and professional development and encouraging community involvement. The global organization has more than 5,000 members.
