Ani Baghdasaryan: Accounting alumna
Name: Ani Baghdasaryan
Education: I attended Georgia Perimeter College’s Dunwoody Campus; it was close to home and offered the classes I was looking for. I graduated in May 2006. I then went on to earn my master’s in public accounting from Georgia State University.
Job: I’m an accounting supervisor at Saia, Inc.
Favorite memory of GPC: The laughs and adventures my friend Natasha and I shared while carpooling to school. We took all the same classes together, and it was nice to have a friend go through the college experience with me.
Reason for choosing GPC: I had been accepted to Georgia State University and was set to attend when I was notified that I was not eligible for the HOPE scholarship due to my immigration status at the time. A family friend recommended Georgia Perimeter since it was a less costly alternative at the time.
Family: Married to my husband Sergiy Pasichnyak for about three years; we live in Cumming. My parents and two younger sisters live in Johns Creek.
Favorite book: “The Fault in Our Stars”
Favorite movie: “The Notebook”
Leisure activities: I enjoying cooking and baking and sharing the end result with family and friends. I also enjoy traveling, especially to the Dominican Republic where my husband and I enjoyed spending time at the beach and getting to know the locals and tourists.
Most influential person in my life: My parents have inspired me to work hard and achieve the goals that I set for myself. The most influential person for my career is GPC Professor Ellen Sweatt. When I started at Georgia Perimeter, I was not sure what major to choose. I was so lucky to have Mrs. Sweatt as my first accounting professor and, thanks to her, chose accounting as my major and my career. I am not sure where I would have ended up if it weren’t for her support, guidance and advice.
Something most people don’t know about me: I am trilingual. I speak Armenian, Russian and English.
