English dean Stuart Noel, GPC Student Veterans Association president Lorretta Arrington and assistant vice president Colletta Carter attended a kick-off reception announcing the creation of the SPC Jamaal R. Addison Memorial Scholarship, sponsored by the GPC veterans group. A former GPC student, Addison was the first Georgian killed in the Iraqi Freedom War in 2003. The SVA, working with the GPC Military Outreach Center launched the campaign to honor his memory and provide scholarships for veterans. A memorial scholarship walk/run is scheduled for spring of next year. Meantime, donations are accepted at https://giving.gpc.edu.
