Giving societies recognize support of donors

In an effort to provide additional recognition, reporting and engagement of donors who generously support Georgia Perimeter College programs and students, the GPC Foundation will be introducing several “Giving Societies” beginning in 2013.

Giving Societies will be created to recognize both annual giving and lifetime, or cumulative, giving.

“Giving Societies will provide us with one more opportunity to better recognize and thank those individuals, corporations and foundations who support our students, faculty, programs and facilities,” says Jeff Tarnowski, the college’s vice president of Institutional Advancement. “They also will allow us to be sure that our private donors know the impact that their gifts are making and will place an emphasis on connecting donors with those whose lives and programs have been positively impacted.”

Annual giving at Georgia Perimeter will be recognized in the following ways:

  • President’s Circle: Gifts greater than or equal to $50,000 from individuals (includes alumni, faculty, staff, retirees and friends of the college) and $100,000 from corporations, foundations or organizations annually;

  • Leadership  Circle: Gifts of $10,000 to $49,000 for individuals and $10,000 to $99,999 for corporations, foundations or organizations;

  • Cornerstone Circle: Gifts of $2,500 to $9,999;

  • GPC Ambassadors Circle: Gifts of $1,000 to $2,499;

  • Jaguar Circle: Gifts of $1 to $999.

Individuals and groups that meet certain levels of cumulative giving over periods longer than a year or that have five or more years of consecutive giving may also be recognized. In addition, a Heritage Circle will be created for those donors who leave GPC in their will or estate plans.

The GPC Foundation also will be creating a recognition society for service to the institution through the Legacy Circle, which will recognize current and past GPC Foundation trustees, Alumni Association Board of Directors members and Retiree Association leaders.

“The generosity of alumni, parents, faculty, staff and our friends in the community enhances student experiences at Georgia Perimeter,” Tarnowski says. “Contributions and gifts truly transform students’ lives.”
